Abingdon Ruritans offer two scholarships

Gloucester High School students and the county’s home-schooled students who are seniors have been invited to apply for Abingdon Ruritan Club scholarships being offered this year.

One scholarship will be awarded to a student who plans to attend a four-year college or university ($4,000) and the other will go to a student who plans to attend a trade or vocational school ($2,000).

The application form and requirements for these scholarships are posted on the Gloucester High School’s Counseling Department website. Look for "Abington Ruritan Club Scholarship" in the Scholarships/Financial Aid section.

To be considered for these scholarships, completed applications must be submitted to the school’s Counseling Department no later than 3 p.m. May 16. Applications from home-schooled students should be mailed to Abingdon Ruritan Club, P.O. Box 22, Bena, Va. 23018 and must be postmarked no later than May 16. For more information, call 757-880-1313.
