Susan Jacobs of Yorktown, was appointed as the assistant principal at Abingdon Elementary School by the Gloucester School Board during its July 14 electronic meeting. The appointment was effective July 15.

Also, Caroline Lacy of Mineral, was named as a school counselor at Gloucester High School, effective Aug. 5. Appointed to teaching positions at GHS were Beverly Bristow of Wake, Deanna Carter and Richard Clark of Newport News, and Guadalupe Fernandez of Gloucester, all effective Aug 24.

In addition, Heather Morgan of Gloucester, was appointed to a teaching position at Peasley Middle School and Courtney Toepel of Williamsburg, was appointed to a teaching position at Page Middle School, effective Aug. 24.

Appointed to support services positions were Marcella Cooke of Seaford, effective July 9; Audra George of Newport News, effective July 20; and Karen Searcy and Bridget O’Connell, both of Gloucester, effective July 1 and Aug. 1, respectively.
