AARP tax prep sites closed for rest of year

AARP TaxAide tax preparation sites will not reopen this year, according to Therese Creel, District Coordinator for the Middle Peninsula TaxAide Group.

“Unfortunately. because of the COVID-19 crisis and the fact that our volunteers and clients are in the vulnerable/high risk group, the AARP TaxAide sites at the Gloucester Library, Mathews Library and Bethany United Methodist Church will not be able to reopen for tax preparation this year,” said Creel.

If taxpayers earned less than $69,000, they can find links to file online at IRS.gov and AARPFoundation.org.Taxpayers with questions can leave a message for the TaxAide Group at 804-654-1407. Creel said that it checks messages periodically so it may take a week or more to respond.
