Mathews native Ellis D. Hudgins, now of Williamsburg, visited Tompkins Cottage last week, taking a trip down Memory Lane. He was born in the county and spent his early years living at Tompkins Cottage, then called the Miller House. Above, Hudgins stands before his home in 1946.
