A sure sign of spring: Gloucester Daffodil Festival is on the way

The weather should be warming up just in time for the 29th annual Gloucester Daffodil Festival, scheduled for next Saturday and Sunday, April 11-12, along Main Street. Daffodil Council members have been hard at work all year preparing for the two-day festival, which will feature streets full of vendors, a colorful parade, plenty of food, entertainment and other attractions.

This year’s festival will come a week later than normal because Easter falls on the first weekend of the month.

According to Daffodil Festival coordinator Debbie Wesolowski, the theme of this year’s festival is “Dancing with Daffodils.” An exciting feature to this year’s festival will be Smithfield native Bria Kelly, who was a finalist on national television shows “America’s Got Talent” and “The Voice.” She will give two performances on April 11 after the crowning of the new Daffodil Queen.
