‘A Night Off Broadway’ to be held Saturday

“A Night Off Broadway,” a Gloucester Arts Festival event, will be held from 6-9 p.m. on Saturday, June 17, in the auditorium at Gloucester High School. It will feature three one-act plays performed by different troupes.

“Bad Dates” is a comedy by Jon Jory and Michael Bauer about a couple who agree to date other people but learn to appreciate what they have as they meet a series of narcissists, manipulators, obsessives, and imposters. It will be performed by the Gloucester High School Dukes.

“Dr. Walter Reed and the Cuban Connection” is “the rest of the story” behind Dr. Walter Reed’s work in eradicating yellow fever at the end of the 19th century. It will be performed by storyteller and griot Dr. Katrina White Brown, owner of Theatre for the Soul, a theatrical production company.

“Live, Onstage!” is farcical existential spoof by Victoria George that questions what is real and what isn’t. It features such characters as Professor Featherflowers, a Southern Belle, a Shakespearea...
