A new mouth to feed

Michael Cunningham of Hayes has been monitoring Yorktown Battlefield’s eagle’s nest, looking for signs of an eaglet, and he found one—here being tended to by a parent. In past years, he said, there’s usually been at least two and as many as three, but this year there appears to only be one, based on watching the adults feeding the little one. The eaglet, Cunningham said, should fledge or attempt to by the end of April.
