The first Sunday after Labor Day, the Guinea Heritage Association honors the local community by announcing the Grand Marshal for the Guinea Jubilee, introducing the Guinea Jubilee Pageant, scholarship and children’s art contest winners, unveiling the annual t-shirt, and the annual Homemade Guinea Cake Silent Auction.

The free community day took place Sept. 11 at the Abingdon Ruritan Club this year. As part of the program, past grand marshals were recognized, as well as scholarship and student art contest winners. The Guinea Jubilee Pageant winners were also introduced and the official 2022 Guinea Jubilee t-shirt was unveiled. Special music was performed by the Kellum Family.
