A.J. Hurst, 81, of Bavon, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2016, at his home.

A.J. was a lifelong waterman who was very well known to everyone. He loved crab potting and his boat the “Miss Norma.”

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur James Hurst Sr.

He is survived by his wife, Thelma; his daughter, Darlene Davis (Hoopy); granddaughter, Lana Booth (James); two great-granddaughters, Makayla and Makenzie Booth; a very special nephew, Wayne Hudgins, and his beloved dog, Sandy.

A visitation was held on Sunday, October 30, 2016 at Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews, Virginia, from 5-8 p.m. Funeral service was on Monday, October 31, 2016 also at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Burial followed at St. Paul Annex Cemetery, Susan, Virginia.
