A huge turnout

HeartChase Gloucester, an event held Saturday morning along Gloucester’s Main Street, raised more than $20,000 for the American Heart Association. Over 60 teams of two to five people each met at a central location near the colonial courthouse and used the HeartChase app on their smartphones to navigate around the game map, completing unique checkpoint challenges along the way. Below, Gloucester’s tourism coordinator Hilton Snowdon agreed to have his head shaved if the event drew at least 50 teams. Tracy Dougherty of The Courthouse Barber volunteered her services to do the deed. Gloucester’s event broke the nationwide record for the number of teams participating in a first-time HeartChase event.
