A helping hand

Hands Across Mathews was in need of some help on Mondays with carrying items out of its warehouse to be bagged up for food distribution on Wednesdays so the organization’s vice president Maurine Frank posted on Facebook looking for a volunteer. Well … “ask and you shall receive,” she said. On the morning of June 14, Mikkel Wilton had an entire group from New Point RV and Gwynn’s Island RV resorts arrived at the Hands Across Mathews door to help. “Not only were they there with their working gloves on, they brought boxes and boxes of canned goods and a donation check,” she said. “Within a short time we had an assembly line going and the bags were all packed. And … they are prepared to come back again. What a blessing these guys were. Fun and energetic and a delight to get to know.” Here, Hands Across Mathews president Joe Noonan receives the $562 donation check from Judy Owens, with the group from the RV resorts in the background.
