A full weekend of July 4 events planned in Reedville

Reedville Independence Day events and America 250 celebrations are on tap for July 3, 4 and 5, organized by the Reedville Fishermen’s Museum. Village residents usually go all-out decorating for the festivities, which are designed for all ages. Events on Friday, July 3, include the golf cart parade and competition beginning at 5:30 p.m. The route is from Festival Halle along Main Street to the end, then back to the museum parking lot. After the parade, there will be a party at the pavilion on the museum campus with music, dancing and food and drinks available for purchase. The Firecracker 5K race will be held at 8 a.m. on Saturday, July 4. Children’s activities start at 10 on the museum campus, with a “hose down” of children by members of the Fairfields Volunteer Fire Department behind Bethany UMC at 10:45.
