A delightful party is held at ‘Oakland’

The Misses Miller of “Oakland” at North gave a delightful party to their friends on Monday evening, April 1, 1907. Miss Alice Miller wore her grandmother’s wedding dress of white brocade silk and pearls. Dancing was kept until a late hour when all parted, declaring they had spent one of the most enjoyable evenings of their lives. There was a large and select assemblage present.

The traveling library of fifty volumes sent to Mathews by the State Librarian at the request of the Committee on Education of the Chamber of Commerce is being so widely read that another section of fifty books was sent this week. Both sections contain some of the finest books to be had for children, young people and older people of varying tastes.
