A day of history

Several members of the Capt. Sally Tompkins chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy enjoyed a day celebrating American history in Richmond on Sunday. They began their day at Shockoe Cemetery, the second oldest cemetery in Richmond and were led on a private tour where they were told stories about several of the people interred there. Also on the itinerary was a reenactment of Patrick Henry’s famous “Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death” speech at St John’s Church.
