A cantata in COVID times

Newington Baptist Church in Gloucester is known for its annual Christmas cantatas and did not disappoint in 2020, performing Dec. 13. Because it’s the year of COVID-19, the choir could not be on stage; members appeared virtually, their voices and images recorded during months of preparation. Director Heather King began practice the first of September, and her husband James King individually recorded, videotaped and mixed the images with assistance of Danny Kissinger and Lauren King.
