A birthday party and a hay ride

Little Miss Earlyne and Maurice Hughes entertained a few of her friends on Friday from two to six p.m. Those being present were: Misses Rosalyn Borum, Melber Hudgins, Golden Hudgins, Messrs. Percy Borum, Lester Hughes, Leb and Earl Hudgins. Games were played, refreshments were served, after which a hayride was given to the bay shore. The chaperones were: Mrs. Borum, Mrs. Hughes and Mr. George Hudgins.

Miss Olive White and Indie Hughes, of East Mathews, and Messrs. John Hughes and Edwin Curtis, of Hampton, spent Saturday and Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Geo. W. Hudgins.

Mr. Frank C. Hudgins, of Mathews, who was married to Miss Lena May Lambert, of Jacksonville, Fla., on May 4, arrived here Wednesday to spend a few days with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. L.D. Hudgins.
