A big Christmas dinner

Members and friends of American Legion Post 83 of Mathews spent their Christmas morning delivering meals to homebound residents, people on duty at the Mathews Volunteer Rescue Squad, and the Mathews Sheriff’s Office dispatcher. Legionnaire Morey Alexander said 32 Christmas dinners with all the trimmings were prepared by Mathews caterer Shelly Williams, and that donations from the community, Best Value Supermarket and the Mathews Rotary Club helped to fund this year’s meal.
