Wetlands board approves construction requests

The Gloucester County Wetlands Board met last Wednesday to consider several requests for waterfront construction projects. The first was from Thomas Maclay of Glass Road who requested to construct two 24-foot by 60-foot raised ramps with travel hoist and shoreside reinforced concrete slab for small boat launches. The board approved his request unanimously with the condition that Maclay make a payment into the wetlands’ in-lieu fund for impacts to tidal wetlands. The amount is to be determined after county staff confirms the impacts. Charles Wilson through Ventures, LLC, sought authorization to construct two armor stone breakwaters with 110 cubic yards of nourishment and 1,400 square feet of wetland vegetation plantings. The board unanimously approved the request. Jeff Wehrung through Navigator Investments, LLC, requested to construct 130 linear feet of riprap revetment 10 feet channelward of an existing deteriorated timber bulkhead.
