Letter: Hoping to bloom in 2021

Editor, Gazette-Journal: As the days grow cooler, all of us at the Garden Club of Gloucester look forward to re-starting our year of gatherings, meetings, preservation, fellowship and planning for Historic Garden Week 2021. We welcome our new President, Julie Stone, and look forward to working with her to continue our mission and to our contributions to Gloucester and to our home base, the Garden Club of Virginia. We also want to extend a warm and heartfelt thank you to our outgoing President, Anne Marshall, who tirelessly led a new slate of officers and committee chairs; and prepared our club for the future. Anne presided over some historic “firsts.” In 2018, our club celebrated our 90th anniversary in Gloucester! And 2019-20 brought the 100th anniversary of the Garden Club of Virginia. And 2020, sadly, brought the pandemic which cut our year short.
