Letter: Use property for library

Editor, Gazette-Journal:
The word on the street is that the board of supervisors wants to build an industrial park where the water tower and school bus garage are located, and build a metal building for a bus garage across Route 17.
This vision and strategic priority will destroy this beautiful piece of land.
It is worthy of a nice library and health department/extension service building. It will also support the ball fields there and the bus garage, I think. This is a centralized piece of land belonging to the people, and it should be put to quality use. Nothing has more quality than a library.
I hear the county is paying rent for the library and its branch now in use at shopping centers, a total of $225,240 a year.
This could be a tax savings to the community. It could make our people proud and to look on our leaders as being smart and have made a wise old owl decision.
