Letter: Figg Shop Road pride

If you happen to live on, or drive, Figg Shop Road in northern Gloucester County this past year, hopefully you have noticed that there is no trash or debris in our ditches and roadside for a two-mile stretch. Although thoughtless drivers continue to throw trash out their windows every day, this clean road is the direct result of two wonderful neighboring families, the Williamses and the Andersons. They carry bags as they walk their dogs several times each week and pick up other people’s trash. What an unselfish service they are providing for our neighborhood. It is so nice to ride along and see the results of their hard work.
In 2008, I moved onto Figg Shop Road. I was appalled at the trash and debris in the ditches and roadsides of this four-mile road. When I learned about the Gloucester County Cleanup Day held each March, I tried to organize a group to tackle our road.
