Letter: Bag recycling a success

We want to give a huge thank you to the Gloucester schools, Gloucester Clean Community and the people of Gloucester for helping make our plastic bag recycling program a huge success!
We’ve already collected over 300 pounds in the first month of our six-month, 500-pound goal! Abingdon, Achilles, Bethel, Botetourt and Petsworth Elementary schools, Page and Peasley Middle schools, and the Weekday Learning Center all helped collect recyclable plastic bags and plastic film in November, and all of the elementary schools and Peasley Middle will continue to collect plastic bags in December!
We also want to thank all of the departments and organizations who have kept collection bins in their buildings—there are bins to drop off plastic bags in County Building One, County Building Two, both Gloucester libraries, Lighthouse Worship Center, Gloucester YMCA, and the Gloucester-Mathews Care Clinic.
