Hearing Tuesday on Gloucester’s CIP

Gloucester residents will have an opportunity to comment on the county administrator’s proposed fiscal year 2020-2024 Capital Improvement Plan next week.
A public hearing on the matter is scheduled during the board of supervisors’ meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the colonial courthouse. The board’s regular meeting will begin at 6:30.
The CIP is a planning document that will be used in preparing future operating budgets, to anticipate future financial needs, and to identify possible funding resources.
A major factor in discussing the proposed CIP has been funding a new or renovated high school. During the board of supervisors’ Jan.
15 meeting, County Admin-
istrator Brent Fedors presented a number of options the school the board could take moving forward. These options ranged from leaving the current high school as it is without any renovation to a full-scale remodel, a phased approach, or an entirely new school.
