Thomas Gordon Jones, age 86, of Moon, Va., passed into the loving and merciful arms of Jesus on Saturday, October 17, 2026. He was born on November 26, 1939 to the late Hal Wilkie Jones and Pauline (Mullen) Jones in Hickory, North Carolina. Thomas served in the U.S. Air Force for four years; afterwards he worked in the Federal Aviation Administration until retirement. He was a Vietnam veteran who enjoyed riding motorcycles with a veterans’ group and proud member of the American Legion. He enjoyed horseback riding and country dancing. Thomas was preceded in death by his brother, Alan Jones; sisters, Claire and Evelyn Jones, and son, Brian Jones. He is survived by his loving companion of many years, Susan Crowley; daughters, Judy Jones Gross and Teresa Jones Nicholson; brother, Jerry Jones; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
