The Mathews Branch of the NAACP will host a Candidates’ Forum featuring the two people running for the position of Commonwealth’s Attorney for Mathews County. Christopher Reagan and Grant Spears will answer questions from Mathews residents on Wednesday, Oct. 21 at the Cobbs Creek Arts Center, 61 Cobbs Creek Lane. The forum is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. and close by 7:30. The winner of the election will fill the unexpired term of the late Marie Walls, which ends on Dec. 31, 2027.The two candidates will give opening statements and answer questions from the moderator. Then members of the audience will be invited to the microphone to ask questions. The forum will end with closing statements from Reagan and Spears. The NAACP Mathews Branch is a non-partisan civic organization that offers a candidates’ forum almost every year as a public service to the citizens of Mathews.
