Editor, Gazette-Journal: I cannot believe the lack of historical knowledge displayed by the growing number of people who support socialism. Most older Americans learned in school or from our parents who fought in WWII the terrible consequences of socialism evolving to communism under Stalin and Mao. We have seen the decline of France and England as they embraced socialism. And now, as seniors who have worked hard all our lives for financial security, to own our homes, and pay for Medicare, we see this all threatened by the Democrat Socialists who spurn private property, push government health care, open borders and want to change our constitution.
