Editor, Gazette-Journal: I’ve been waiting for this opportunity for quite a while. Congress was never meant to be a lifelong employment opportunity. Several terms ago, Warner promised that he would only serve two terms. At first, I thought that he would work out well, but it appears that he has faded into a party puppet. What has he done in the last 12 or more years to help Virginians? Being on a committee doesn’t help unless you contribute. I wrote Warner a letter asking that he support the Save America Voter Eligibility Act. I received a prewritten response, claiming that married women would in essence find proving their citizenship under their married name difficult. That response was insulting. Women are not stupid. Anywhere between 71 and 81 percent of U.S. citizens depending on which poll you use, support the Save America Act. Why doesn’t Senator Warner? The Democratic Party donors do not, that’s why.
