Flat Iron to hold Bluegrass Roots Revival Saturday

Bluegrass Roots Revival, featuring three bands celebrating traditional bluegrass music, will be held from 4:30-9:30 p.m. on Saturday at Flat Iron Crossroads, 7709 Flat Iron Road, Gloucester. Doors open at 3:30 p.m. with Old City Barbeque food truck and beer, wine, and soft drinks at the FIX Bar. Headlining the show will be Josh Grigsby and County Line, playing a mixture of traditional, contemporary, and original tunes, along with some “grassed up” country songs. The group was awarded the 2015 Bluegrass Band of Virginia Championship by the Virginia Folk Music Association, said a press release. In addition, Grigsby was voted First Place for Male Vocals. In 2014, the band was the winner of the Bluegrass by the Bay Festival in Gloucester. Bill Jenkins and the Virginia Mountain Boys, a Gloucester-based favorite, will also perform.
