KENNY LEE EWELL

Kenny Lee Ewell, 68, of Dutton, Virginia, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2026, surrounded by loving family after a courageous, yet quick, battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born on December 11, 1957 to the late Randolph and Olethia Ewell, Kenny was raised in the James Store area of Gloucester County, graduated from GHS, and later made his home in Dutton.
Kenny devoted his career to R.T. Ewell & Sons, founded by his father. After their father passed, Kenny and Randy assumed ownership and operation of the business. Later, Kenny went on to establish Ewell Septic Pumping Services.
Kenny found joy in family, flea markets, yard sales, and sharing treasures he found with others. He had a gift for making others feel welcomed and never forgotten. He had a special relationship with their dog Ikie, cat Nelly, and a recently adopted stray named Kenny-Kat.
Above all, Kenny loved his family and took great pride in his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Ida Sue; his sons, John and Lucas (Bailee); his daughter, Hannah (Eric); his four beloved granddaughters, Abigail, Clara Belle, Hazel, and Evah Grace; his brother, Randy (Mary); his sister, Diane; mother-in-law, Betty Ann Green; special uncle Johnston; numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
A celebration of Kenny’s life will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at 2 p.m. at Living Waters Church, 2061 Windsor Road, Dutton, Virginia. A reception will follow in the church fellowship hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Living Waters Church, Attn: Benevolence Fund, to assist local families in need.
“The little things were never really little to him.”
Andrews Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
