The Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office is bringing back its free R.A.D. (Rape Aggression Defense) Self-Defense Training, held at Station 1 on Main Street. Upcoming classes are scheduled for Oct. 28 and Nov. 3, as well as April 5 and 7 of 2027. “Last year, two of our civilian team members attended the basic course and were interested in re-starting our program,” said Gloucester Sheriff Darrell Warren. They, along with two sworn team members, attended a R.A.D. Instructor Course and have held three classes so far, with more to follow. The training is a comprehensive, female-focused self-defense program, with the goal of teaching realistic and hands-on techniques and building awareness, confidence and self-protective skills for attendees, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
