Mathews County residents will have the chance to sound off on issues related to Mathews County Public Schools, as well as hear responses from school officials, on Tuesday night.
The Mathews County School Board will hold a town hall meeting from 6-8 p.m. in the J. Murray Brooks Auditorium in the Thomas Hunter Education Center.
Those who wish to speak will have the opportunity to approach the podium, one time and singly, to ask a question. A citizen’s question should be kept to a maximum of two minutes. Questions should not pertain to personnel or individual student matters. School board members and/or Superintendent of Schools Dr. David S. Daniel will have the opportunity at that time to address each citizen’s question.
Once a citizen’s question has been addressed, the citizen will have up to two minutes for one follow-up question or rebuttal. Once all initial questions from citizens have been addressed, and as time permits, each citizen will be able to ask a maximum of one additional question.
Mathews County citizens unable to attend Tuesday’s Town Hall meeting in person or prefer to submit questions by email may do so by using the Google gorm available on the MCPS Division website at mathews.k12.va.us by noon on Tuesday. Include your name and address on the form. Questions will be read aloud and addressed at the Town Hall meeting, if time allows.
The meeting will adjourn no later than 8 p.m.
