Town hall tonight to discuss regional water issues

The community is invited to a public town hall tonight, Thursday, Oct. 1, at St. Clare Walker Middle School in Middlesex County, to discuss several regional water issues: data centers, menhaden, and wells. Doors open at 5 p.m., with the town hall running from 5:30 to 7:30. All are welcome to this free event co-hosted by Middlesex NAACP and Rural GroundGame. “This region and its communities are distinctly defined by its water,” a release stated. “The future here is directly tethered to water resources which are under significant threats. Wells are running dry, concerns are being raised about how commercial fishing operations are impacting the bay, and the potential for data centers could introduce new water issues.” Community members are invited to take part in this discussion; there will be a panel of speakers who will respond to questions and comments raised.
