The Gloucester-Mathews Gazette-Journal is hosting a fundraiser through October in support of the Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society. Anyone who brings in a pet food or other shelter donation to the Gazette-Journal during October will be entered to win a prize basket full of goodies. There are two baskets—one for those bringing donations to the Gloucester office and one for those who bring donations to the Mathews office. Each basket will contain gifts from participating businesses along Main Street in their respective county. Drop off your donations, get a raffle ticket, and follow along on social media as the Gazette-Journal posts the businesses that generously donated prizes towards the basket. Donations will be accepted through Oct. 30 and the winner will be drawn during the first full week of November.
