Amy Queen Heavner, Yorktown native and child of God, was called home to the Lord on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at the age of 60.

Driven by unconditional love, Amy was a lifelong nurturer and beacon of compassion to her friends, family, and community. She possessed a beautifully unique humor that inspired countless hilarious stories, turns of phrase, and precious memories for everyone in her life. Her loving spirit led to many affectionate nicknames given by those who loved her, from Mama Heavner to Queen Amy. She was an active member of her community throughout her life, volunteering with the churches she attended, her children’s schools, the Yorktown Woman’s Club, Yorktown Rotary, the Bargain Box, and many others.

Perhaps the most admirable examples of Amy’s loving spirit lay in her selfless giving to those in her life. Under her watchful eye, the Heavner household took in many people over the years who needed some support: friends, family, and even strangers from time to time. She also spent a significant portion of her life caring for those who were sick or elderly, both within her family as well as the family of her friends. To each of the people under her care, she showed an abundance of love, patience, and compassion.

Amy’s legacy of tenderness, playfulness, and generosity will be carried forward by those who had the privilege to know her. Her beautiful life will forever be an inspiration, a testament to the impact that a loving spirit can have on the earth.
She will be greatly missed and forever remembered.

Amy is survived by her husband of 41 years, Rob; her children, Justin and Jessica; her brother, Gene; her sister, Elaine, and her grandchildren, Eleanora and Roman, who were the lights of her life. The family would like to extend their deepest sympathies to everyone whose life was touched by this amazing woman.

In lieu of flowers, we encourage you to honor Amy’s legacy of generosity by making a donation to EDMARC (edmarc.org), an organization that provides home health and hospice for children with life-threatening illnesses, and a group that Amy annually volunteered with for 12 years. Services are private and under the direction of Hogg Funeral Home & Crematory.
