In letters on Sept. 17, Sharon Frye mistakenly translates a sign that says “86 47” as meaning “Kill the President.”
Miriam-Webster defines the term “86” as a): to remove from a menu; b): to reject, discontinue or get rid of (something).
Wikipedia says “a slang term for getting rid of something.”
Only in MAGA world is the phrase interpreted to mean to kill.
The sign referenced is expressing a desire to remove the current president from office.
