Several members of the Piankatank River Ladies’ Golf Association took part Sept. 9 and 10 in a Virginia State Golf Association competition at Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, playing both the River Course and the Plantation Course. In a Four Ball competition, Kim Crannis-Curl and Martha Wiggs earned first net in the third flight. In a two-person scramble, Nina Carter and Mary Edmonds earnedfirst net in the second flight. In other news, PRLGC ladies play on Sept. 9 had these results in individual stroke play, gross and flighted: First flight, Mary Francisco, first, 96; Nancy Pannell, second, 98; Gina Custis, third, 98 (tied for second and third resolved through score cards). Second flight, Ellen McGowen, first, 95; Gloria Matthew, second, 97; Chong Hudgins, third, 101. Third flight, Lynne Richardson, first, 104; Donna Lange, second, 109; Marny Richardson, third, 110.
