The Gloucester High School varsity field hockey team celebrated two back-to-back shutout wins on the home field this past week of game play. The Lady Dukes bested Jamestown, 1-0, last Thursday. Jenna Seaton scored the sole goal, which was assisted by Charlotte Houtz. Gloucester recorded eight shots on goal and 10 penalty corners, while Jamestown had two shots on goal and two penalty corners. The JV Lady Dukes also beat Jamestown, 1-0. Gloucester returned to Dukes Stadium Monday evening to defeat Grafton, 4-0. Goals were scored by Houtz, Lacey Carpenter, Madelyn Rowe and Aaliyah Mattocks. Houtz, Josephine Williams and Addison Wymer all recorded the night’s assists. Amelia Santiago, Wymer and Skylar Cox all made defensive saves. The Lady Dukes will play their next three matches away. They will face York tonight, Bruton on Sept. 24 and Kellam on Sept. 25. Gloucester will return home on Sept. 29 to play Poquoson....
