Anyone paying attention to tiny, tiny details may have noticed that, with Labor Day in the rearview mirror, we have changed our policy on letters…no real change, just one more rule for election season. Political endorsements are starting to appear in the Gazette-Journal’s mail. Because some people are very enthusiastic about a candidate, or for or against an issue, we remind them what we have said for a couple of years now: You get to endorse one candidate, or one issue, one time. One letter to endorse your candidate or issue. We made this rule because, frankly, a lot of writers have flooded us in the past. And the same goes for people writing against a candidate or issue: one time. Our other guidelines continue: one a month, 300-word limit; and we thank our regular correspondents for observing these requests....
