The Gloucester High School varsity field hockey team defeated New Kent, 6-0, Tuesday evening on the road in its first official Bay Rivers District match of the season. Kenleigh Hall, Emily Farrar, Kendall Thomas, Madelyn Rowe, Ayla Fernandez and Jenna Seaton all scored one goal each for the Lady Dukes. Charlotte Houtz, Thomas and Josephine Williams each recorded assists. Goalkeepers Ellie Adams and Lorelei Wymer helped Gloucester secure its shutout win. During the match, Gloucester earned eight offensive corners to New Kent’s one. The Lady Dukes also recorded 20 shots on goal, compared to one shot by the Trojans. Gloucester will host Jamestown for its home opener tonight, Thursday, Sept. 10, at Dukes Stadium. The Lady Dukes will return to their home field on Monday to face the Grafton Clippers....
