Shannon McFarland Roane, 57, of Gloucester, was indicted on eight felony charges related to alleged mismanagement of funds for the Dukes Touchdown Club, an independent athletic booster organization to support the Gloucester High School football and cheer programs, after evidence and testimony were presented to a Gloucester County grand jury Tuesday. Roane has been charged with six counts of embezzlement, each equating to or exceeding $1,000. The time periods for each count of embezzlement allegedly occurring include the following: on or about Dec. 30, 2022; on or between April 28-Oct. 28, 2023; on or between Oct. 30, 2023-April 30, 2024; on or between May 28-Nov. 28, 2024; on or between Dec. 30, 2024-June 30, 2025; and on or between July 1, 2025-Dec. 31, 2025.
