MHS golf team back on the links

The Mathews High School golf team got an early start on the 2026 season, beginning practices during the final week of July. Under the leadership of returning head coach Jake Jackson and assistant coach C.K. Ambrose, the Blue Devils have been working hard at their home course, Piankatank River Golf Club in Hartfield, as they prepare for another competitive year. This season’s roster features a blend of veteran leadership and young talent. The team includes three seniors, two juniors, three sophomores, one freshman, and three eighth graders. With golfers representing several grade levels, the Blue Devils have a strong mix of experience, leadership, and promising future potential. Mathews has competed in five matches so far this season.
