Kreiter-Foronda publishes new book of poetry

Virginia Poet Laureate Emerita Carolyn Kreiter-Foronda, Ph.D., of Hardyville, published her latest poetry book, “Vanishing Life: A Poetic Warning,” last month, co-written with Indiana Poet Laureate Emerita Joyce Brinkman. The book centers around endangered species, ranging from the red-cockaded woodpecker to the African elephant. The first section of each poem is written in tercets, followed by a free-flowing second part, designed to pull meaningful portions of each stanza in the poem’s initial section to emphasize the important message about a specific endangered species. Throughout the book, Krei-ter-Foronda and Brinkman rotated writing the first and second sections. This is the pair’s third poetry book that they have both been collaborators.
