The Virginia Symphony Orchestra returns to Historic Yorktown for its 28th annual outdoor concert on Saturday. The concert is free and open to the public. The performance begins at 7:30 p.m. under the direction of conductor Adam Turner. Visitors are encouraged to pack a cooler, bring lawn chairs or blankets, and arrive early, a release said. The Fifes & Drums of York Town will take the stage at 6 for a patriotic performance, and blue ribbons will be awarded before the concert for the most creative picnic arrangements. This year’s performance, “Musical Mosaic: Symphony Under the Stars,” showcases the range of the orchestra with a program that brings together timeless composers and favorite hit scores, the release stated.
