Gloucester family seeks financial help for dog’s surgery

A Gloucester family has set up a GoFundMe campaign to help with a needed surgery to get their Golden Retriever back on his feet. Hank is a 5-year-old, 130-pound rescue who originally came from Adopt a Golden Birmingham (Alabama). “He is one of the sweetest, happiest dogs you could ever meet and has become an incredibly important part of our family,” said Brook Creel. Several months ago, Hank injured the cranial cruciate ligament in his left knee. The Creel family was trying to help Hank with that problem when the unthinkable happened: his other knee gave out. “Now our big boy can barely walk,” Creel said. They are now facing thousands of dollars in surgical and medical expenses to give Hank the chance to walk comfortably and play again.
