Bethany United Methodist Church, Gloucester Point, will hold a free half-day event on Tuesday, Sept. 15 from 9 a.m.-12:15 p.m. designed for older adults. The event will feature educational presentations, community exhibitors, a continental breakfast, a boxed lunch to-go, and a chance to win door prizes. This will be an opportunity to connect with local resources, learn practical information for healthy and independent aging, and enjoy a welcoming community atmosphere, a release said. Topics to be presented include: “Update on Alzheimer’s and Dementia Research,” “Taking Care of Your Parents as They Age,” “Making a Meaningful Difference: Volunteering with Bay Aging’s RSVP” and “Personal Safety for Seniors.” Churches hosting the event include Bethany, Bellamy and Susanna Wesley United Methodist churches and is organized by Senior Advocate.
