The DeGood Foundation is the home of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in the Middle Peninsula and Hampton Roads areas. For more than 25 years, the Imagination Library has given a book in the mail to children from birth to 5 years old. Gloucester County has 776 children currently enrolled in this program. Recently, Abingdon Ruritan Club members Josie Langford and Wade Bunn and their grandson, Bo Langford, met with DeGood development coordinator Catherine Hale Elliott and presented a $1,500 donation from the club. The Abingdon donation will provide one book a month for one year to 64 children. Bo, who just turned 5 and has a deep love of reading, participated in the program from birth and will no longer be eligible, Bunn, Langford and Bo are shown here with a cardboard cutout of Dolly Parton....
