Brenda M. Richardson, 84, of Gloucester, Va., passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, July 29, 2026.

Brenda retired from Newport News Shipbuilding after 35 years of dedicated service. She will be remembered for her kind heart, wonderful sense of humor, love of practical jokes, and unwavering devotion to her family. She had a gift for making others laugh and brought joy to those around her with her playful spirit.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jackie Richardson, and her grandson, Cecil A. Sessoms.

She is survived by her daughters, Suzanne Tatum and Melinda Mullins; her grandchildren, Amanda Sessoms, Joshua Moon (Krista), and Michael Moon; her cherished great-grandchildren, Evann, Laylah, Cecil AJ, Cheyenne, and Madison; one brother, Phillip Mann. She also leaves behind a host of beloved family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to Ginger, Heather, Rebekah, and Mo for their care, compassion, and support.

A celebration of Brenda’s life will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 11 a.m. in Amory Funeral Home Chapel.
