Kenneth Warren Jenkins Sr., known to everyone as Warren, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital. He was 76. Born on April 18, 1950, to the late Percy W. and Fannie Mae Smith Jenkins, he attended Gloucester County Schools before serving his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Warren dedicated many years of his life to service, ultimately retiring from the Naval Weapons Station. To know Warren was to know his “Man Shed” named the Bena Race Association. A man of simple pleasures and culinary talents, he found great joy in canning vegetables and stirring up his homemade chili, hearty soups, and his famous cabbage and potatoes with old red-eye ham. On Autumn Sundays, the driveway was full of family, neighbors, and friends cheering and laughing for their favorite team, and Warren was cheering on the Dallas Cowboys, never losing faith in his beloved silver and blue. He was a member of the Denbigh Rod & Gun Hunt Club, and his CB handle was Beechnut. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Betty Jenkins Fanning Gaskins, Percy Jenkins Jr., James C. Jenkins, and Randy Jenkins. Survivors include his wife, Stella; son, “Poss” Jenkins and wife Christie; daughter, DeDe Jenkins West; grandchildren, Alyssa, Angel and Aubrey; siblings, Patricia Williams, Bill Henry Jenkins, Frances Owens, Gene Jenkins (Sylvia), Raymond Jenkins, Nina Greene (Leon), and Gloria Meade (Tom); numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews, and a host of friends who will deeply miss his cooking and his humor. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 24, 2026, at Bethlehem United Methodist Church, 2101 Mark Pine Road, Hayes, Va. 23072, from 10-10:45 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life service at 11 a.m., conducted by Pastor Chuck Winner.
