The Virginia Master Naturalists and Gloucester Parks, Recreation and Tourism sponsor Moth-ers Night Out! on Friday, from 7:30-10 p.m., at Beaverdam Park’s Fary’s Mill Road entrance, 9537 Fary’s Mill Road, Gloucester. The night is held in celebration of National Moth Week and will include a guided caterpillar hunt, a presentation on moths, games and crafts, a moth syrup attractant contest, and the chance to observe moths attracted to special UV lights. Participants will also learn about frogs, bats, and moth identification while contributing data to a national citizen science database, a release said. The program is free and open to the public.
