Mathews supervisors to meet today

The Mathews County Board of Supervisors has two meetings scheduled for today, Thursday, July 16, a special meeting at 4 o’clock that will be a closed session, and the regular monthly meeting at 6 o’clock. Both meetings will be held in the historic courthouse on Court Street. The 4 p.m. special meeting is being held to discuss the annual performance evaluation of the county administrator, as well as ongoing legal issues involving Hole in the Wall Waterfront Grill. The legal issues include disposition of publicly held property as it pertains to the restaurant, located at 384 Old Ferry Road; consultation with legal counsel regarding the lawsuit titled Hole in the Wall Waterfront Grill LLC v. Mathews County Board of Supervisors and Ramona Wilson in her capacity as County Administrator; and consultation with the county attorney regarding such legal matters as the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, settlement negotiations, legal requirements for the disposition of publicly held property, c...
